Centennial

Basic characteristics
Origin: 
USA. Centennial is an aroma-type cultivar, released in 1990. Described by some as a "Super Cascade". The genetic composition is 3/4 Brewers Gold, 3/32 Fuggle, 1/16 East Kent Golding, 1/32 Bavarian and 1/16 unknown.
Aroma: 
Predominantly citrus but with undertones like lemongrass and pine needles often evident. The citrus character can be reminiscent of Cascade ( grapefruit), the variety it’s most often compared to.

 

Brewing use:  "Dual purpose". often used for the third and "dry" hopping. The brewing beers American type, "ale", wheat ales.
