June was above average in temperature. The first two decades were almost without rainfalls. The third decade was characterized by tropical days (temperatures above 30°C), followed by rainfalls of a stormy nature. Even so, the total amount of rainfalls in the greater part of the Žatec region per month is below average. In some localities, it rained more than 100 mm, but in a short time and accompanied by hail that also damaged the hops.

2. Health evaluation of hops

The lack of precipitation in May and June significantly affected the growth of hops, which is currently on most areas approx. 1 m below to the top of the construction, exceptionally reaching the top of the construction. We assess the health status of the hops as good. Chemical protection of hops against fungal diseases and animal pests continued. At the end of the month, it was already possible to see the setting on the flower and occasionally the heads also appeared.
