The month of June was above average in terms of rainfalls and temperature. In the period from 1.6. until 20.6 the weather was dry and hot. In the period from 16.6. until 21.6. temperatures exceeded 30 ° C, which is not optimal for hop growth. The weather has improved in 3 decades. Stormy rainfalls came, which brought a large amount of rainfalls and hails. It rained up to 150 mm in the area affected by heavy rain and hail. In total on approximately 900 ha were damaged with a damage range from 10% to 100%. We estimate the totally destroyed hop gardens on an area of approximately 200 ha.

2. Health evaluation of hops

Most of the hop gardens reach the top of the construction. We evaluate the health status of hops as good. Chemical protection of hops against fungal diseases continued. The occurrence of aphids and spider mites was very low, so the treatment did not have to be carried out at the whole area, but only where a higher incidence was recorded.
