The weather in January to April was significantly warmer as last year and warmer than long-term average. The rainfalls were the same as the long-term average. It rained more in February than in April. April was the driest in terms of the last few years and also significantly warmer.
2. Spring works and vegetation stage
The development of the weather allowed spring work to begin a little earlier. The cutting of hops began in mid-March for the hybrid varieties Sládek, Premiant and Agnus.The variety Saaz started on the end of March. The training of hybrid hops began around April 15. The variety Saaz was training partially on the end of the month.
The chemical protection of hops was carried out against fungi and animal pests, mainly against Hemp flea beetle. Its presence is significantly higher this year.
