May was very dry. Rained only 20,6 mm what is 33,4 mm less, than the long-term average. The value of the average temperature compared to 30-year-old average was 0,9 ° C higher.
On 23rd May Czech hit of thunderstorms and hail in several areas, such as Saaz and Ausha region. In total were damaged by hail about 130 hectares, of which 70 ha in Saaz area and 60 ha in Ausha area. Mostly they are hop gardens planted with hop variety Saaz and Premiant.
2. Spring works and vegetation stage
Spring work took place on time in all areas. At the end of the month hops reached the height 2-4 meters. Health state of hops is still very good.
Hop protection against fungal diseases was conducted.
