According to a measured values in May was this month against of 30-years average underaverage, with an enough rainfalls. On the 24th of May was hit hopgardens by the hailstorm in Saaz area. It was hit about 200 ha of hopgardens, out of these was 40 ha destroyed more than 60 – 80 % and 160 ha was destroyed from 10 – 30 %.

2. Vegetation development

Colder weather with enough rainfalls broke the growth of the hops and complicated for growers a training of the hops, cultivation and protection against a fungal diseases. The training was processed whole this month. Habitus and hops development is so different, it depends on the term of hop cutting. The hopgardens, which were cutting later, were trained at the end of the month. The hopgardens development is delayed on average about 1 or 2 weeks.
